Read Anything Good Lately?

by Matt Mattson

cover-social-excellence-we-dare-youRead anything good lately? That’s one of my favorite questions to ask people I’ve just met.  It provides some good insight into the things that are important to them, allows them to disclose at whatever level they’re comfortable, and typically ends up giving me some good ideas to add to my personal reading list.

So, what are you reading right now?  I’ll be a little candid here and admit that I’m really flattered by all the schools and organizations that have chosen to use our new book, Social Excellence: We Dare You  as their book club choices and/or summer readings.  We’ve had several inter/national fraternities and sororities, for example, choose to buy copies for all their summer conference attendees, and we have some schools using the book for their leadership or Freshman 101 classes.  How cool is that?

Thought I’d take a minute to share some other books that have inspired us…  Here’s a copied/pasted section of the Social Excellence book that shares just that…

Which books have you read and what are the five books you would like to read next. If you’re willing, we’d love to hear your book recommendations, too. E-mail them to or find us on Twitter (@PhiredUp) and Facebook (
